Throughput

Figure 2, Throughput: The diagram provides the throughput behaviour of the AXAS-M including the optional Digital Pulse Processor (DPP). It shows the dependency of the output count rate with the input count rate for different digital peaking times. The lower the peaking time, the higher is the maximum throughput for a system.

Figure 3, Energy Resolution with Input Count Rate: The energy resolution of the AXAS-M including a Digital Pulse Processor is mostly independent from the input count rate. The graph shows the dependency of the Full Width at half maximum with the incoming photons (input count rate) for different digital peaking times.

Figure 5: The diagram provides the principle of operation of an AXAS-M. It shows the SDD module including the Peltier element, the FET, temperature sensor and the SDD Chip itself. Together with the Preamplifier including all necessary filtering, voltage dividers and groundings, it forms the AXAS-M1. AXAS-M2 consists of a wide range input power supply, a high voltage module, a Peltier (TEC) Controller module and optional signal processing units.

Figure 6: All AXAS detectors have a compact aluminium housing plated with Nickel. The screws are made of stainless steel. An AXAS can be fixed to a plate using M3 screws. The mounting plates are compatible for all AXAS'. The finger diameter for an AXAS with VITUS SDDs up to 50mm² active area (H50) is 20mm for all AXAS-M1 units with VITUS H80 or R100 SDD the diameter is 25mm.
